Polyview is an exhibition content development project
on the convergence of science, culture, and art related to polyhedra.

This project has been supported from the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea since 2017. The project leader is Prof. Wonyoung Choe in chemistry department, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), Ulsan, South Korea, together with Prof. Hoi Ri Moon (chemistry, UNIST), Prof. Jinsook Choi (general studies, UNIST), and  Ji Hea Kim (exhibition designer), and a group of students (UNIST), participating as team researchers.
This year, the Polyview team is planning a pop-up exhibition at Busan National Science Museum, our project partner in Korea. We are looking forward to hearing any inputs from experts coming from museums and institutions, who are interested in working together with us.

Project Goal

  • Understand the association of humanities, science and arts through polyhedra.
  • Use polyhedra as a medium to easily understand various scientific theories and phenomena.
  • Understand the cultural and historical values of polyhedra as a form language.
  • Provide an interesting exhibition for the polyhedra through fun and engaging formats of visual and hands-on experiences.

Impact of Project

  • Through the artifacts and materials from all over the world, we can see the history and use of polyhedra according to human culture development.
  • Learn the use and discovery of polyhedra in science and recognize the importance.
  • Learn how the inspiration from different fields produced creative results, through the examples of polyhedra as the motifs in various genres of art.
  • Create a polyhedron introduced in the exhibition, eventually creating one’s own polyhedra.
